Phone Trick died October 9, 2005 of natural causes at Milfer Farm in Unadilla, New York. He was 23. Phone Trick was the sire of Favorite Trick, the sire of 2004 Marathon National Stakes (G1) winner Prankster CF, and Tricky Dust, the winner of this year’s Master Salls (G3) and Brigand (G3) handicaps at Ruidoso Downs. Milfer Farm, owned by veterinarian Dr. Jonathan Davis, had stood Phone Trick since acquiring him from John T. L. Jones’s Walmac International in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2001.
